Scholarships, Financial Aid, and NAPS 

There are three primary ways to receive financial assistance at schools and colleges. 

• Athletic Scholarships – are based strictly on athletic ability and NCAA eligibility (used by Division 1, and some Division 1AA and 2 schools).

• Merit Based Aid – are based on special talents, including athletic, to attract students to their schools (used by certain schools in lower divisions).

• Need Based Aid – are based on your expected family contribution number which is figured by U.S. Department of Education, aid can come from grant, loan or work study (most schools). 

NAPS can and will help you to understand the processes associated with scholarships and financial aid and assist you in receiving as much possible funding as your athletic and academic ability will dictate.
